I have not heard an album in a while where the artist experiements with so many different styles, yet makes them all work as a cohesive project.

He isn’t afraid to mix things up and garble what you think should be happening, muddling your mindset. Blowing away expectations is what they call it, throwing banjos into the mix when the dominant instrument is a fuzzed up rock guitar, Heartless Road. This disc has rudiments of Rock, Blues, Country, Bluegrass, Folk, and R&B well integrated into his songs; upon occasion they will pretty closely fit into one genre except for that small iota that makes you pause, and think. You know what they say about thinking? It can cause clarity and result in intelligence.
